Beach

Why does the upload switch your pages?
Oh well...these pages are for a cricut swap I am in. Pictures really do not do the layouts any justice.

Just Beachy

I loved a layout from a class I took at our LSS, so I scraplifted it and made a few changes to it. This is for a Summer/ Beach swap I am hosting on SCS.

Mikaela's card creation

My daughter has enjoyed making her own cards for several years now and is becoming quite creative. She designed these all on her own. I will have to give her the card challenges and see what she can come up with. I hardly ever use cards so the card challenges are difficult for me to do.

Organizing my mess

This is me in the middle of organizing my stuff. I am lucky to have a room that I can scrapbook in. I also have the room right off to this room that I can also spread out into if I need to and I do quite often.

What I have been doin for the last couple weeks

Well the Canucks are playing their worst game in the last I dont know how many games, so I gave up watching this game.
I have decided I need to come up with a better storage system for my scrapbooking supplies. I have been working on organizing my themes into pizza boxes so I have all my themed stuff together. Then I used my empty storage containers to sort ribbons, flowers, etc into colors. I then want to sort my pictures into my pizza boxes and hopefully can come up with a few kits in the process.
I went to a crop on Wednesday night and had no clue what to bring. I grabbed my daughters baby album and 2 pizza boxes (one marked baby girl and the other, girl). Only problem was the pizza boxes didnt close as they were too full and still needed some more organization.
I was able to work on this page. I still need to come up with the journaling and want to put the names of the people under the pictures.
Next post I will put pictures of my scrapbooking mess

Spring Break

Had a great day. We drove 1.5 hours to go pick up my daughter. Dropped the boys off at the pool, so Moira and I could go shopping. The first store we hit was Michaels. Didn't find too many bargains or anything too exciting.
Next we picked up my daughter, then off to pick up the boys before they turned into fishes.
Lunch time, went to the mall where there is a food court and the kids all had their favorite lunch. Took some goofy pics.
Then started the journey home, but had to make a stop at the minigolf course.

Campbell River Scenery

With all the snow in the background, hard to believe it was 19 degrees today!!!!

Mug shot

Mug shot of me and Moira at the beach. Need a tshirt for this 19 degree weather. Figured we were at the beach we would be cold.

Need a Bun

Carsyn, Ricardo, Brayden and Riley at the first weinee roast of 2009. Hard to believe after the rotten winter we have had, we are able to have a weinee roast in 19 degree temp at the beginning of April.

Make a Wish

This is for a cricut swap hosted by mnewby. I love using my cricut. I use it on almost all my layouts. It is the best thing to help with titles. I can not imagine havign to make all my own titles. I spent enough hours doing that when I was a preschool teacher and then when I did family daycare.

Learning is Fun

Here is school layout for the Cricut Swap hosted by mnewby. The journaling is the homework poem by Shel Silverstein

Homework oh homework,
I hate you, you stink!
I wish I could wash you
away in the sink.
If only a bomb
would explode you to bits,
Homework oh homework,
you give me fits!
I'd rather take baths
with a man eating shark,
or wrestle a lion
alone in the dark,
eat spinach and liver,
and pet ten porcupines,
then tackle the homework
my teacher assigns.
Home work, oh home work
you're last on my list,
I can't even see
why you even exist.
If you'd just disappear
it would tickle me pink.
Homework, oh homework,
I hate you, you stink!!!
Shel Silverstein

Lament of the Stamper's Husband

found this on a blog somewhere--too cute not to share

Lament of the Stamper's Husband

A Poem for the Stamper's Spouse

She learned to stamp on Monday.
Her embossing was quite fine,
She forgot to thaw out dinner,
So we all went out to dine.

She brayed background Tuesday,
She says they are a MUST,
They really were quite lovely,
But she forgot to dust.

Wednesday it was birthday cards,
She says they are such fun,
Shading, blending, watercolors,
But the laundry wasn't done.

Her card swap was on Thursday,
Using green and blue and red,
I guess she was engrossed,
For she never made the bed.

It was shaker cards on Friday,
Using techniques she adores,
But she never seems to notice,
The crumbs on all the floors.

I found a maid on Saturday,
My life is now complete.
My wife can stamp the days away,
The house will STILL be neat.

Well, now it's come to Sunday,
And my forehead's feeling damp,
I screamed! I raved! I ranted!
THE MAID HAS LEARNED TO STAMP!!!

Sock Monkey

I can't believe how crooked the ribbon looks in this picture. I had to actually go and check the card to make sure this isnt what it looked like. Thank goodness it looks straight on the card. My son is going to a birthday party this weekend and the pair of them are monkeys when they get together. They remind me of Curious George.

Soccer

Just for Soccer Stampin Up set. My son loves playing soccer, so have made the thank you card for his coach.

Where does time go?

It seemed like only yesterday I was posting my card to my website. I have been busy finishing up some layouts for swaps I am in. I will take some pictures and post them as well. I am away til Sunday then will post pics.
I was thinking of doing the 365 scrapbook, but if i cant post on my blog more than once a week...how in the world will I keep up with the 365 days....
I do have pics of some other cards I have made.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. We are heading out of town to go visit friends and the in-laws.

Getting Started

Well I started this blog a year ago and all I managed to complete was the name of my blog. My life has taken a completely different turn in the last year and half. I have given up some old hobbies and started some new ones. My newest hobby now is Scrapbooking and Stamping. I am having fun incorporating stamps into my layouts. I decided to do scrapbooking the cheap way and use 8.5 by 11 paper. Well I have since learned that scrapbooking is not cheap no matter what size paper you use, and I didnt really like the 8.5 by 11 size, so I have moved onto the 12 by 12. I took some classes and was hooked.
I moved up to Campbell River and joined a Stampin Up club and loved the way all their paper and stamp pads match. I found I was spending quite a bit of money, so decided to join as a hobbyist. I have been teaching a few card classes.
My family has been supportive and enjoy looking to see what new things I have done. The kids love seeing what I have done with the pages for their scrapbook albums. My husband hates it when I drag out the camera, but has become a better sport as he knows he is not gonna get away without me taking a few pictures.
So when I am not scrapbookingor cardmaking, I am busy with my kids activities. The kids have me running just about everynight of the week. I also enjoy playing Wii games with the kids, watching the Canucks play hockey, and reading.
